Outdoor Storage Shed | Storage Shed Plans
An outdoor storage shed can be a really good asset to your backyard or garden if planned correctly.
It does not have to be too expensive either as you can build your own from a ready to assemble storage shed kit or timber and hardware bought directly from your local supplier.
If you choose to build from scratch then you will need a set of outdoor storage shed plans to work from, a kit should come complete with its own set of plans. If you are choosing to build your own then there are whole sets of plans available to download from the internet with various sizes and designs included.
To choose your design you will need to visualise where your storage shed will sit in your garden or yard. You will then roughly calculate the floor area covered and then choose the shed that best suits from your blueprints. Make sure to check on the positioning of windows or doors for ease of access.
If your shed is to double as a work shed then you may want to add some kind of work bench. This along with paint or varnish and brushes will add to costs but can along with shelving be added later.
Make sure that your foundation is sound and level, this alone can add years of use to your storage shed and eliminate the annoyance of doors and windows that won’t function correctly.
If winds can be quite strong in your area you may need to fix your shed solidly to your foundation.
